Light a Candle

Light a candleIn many different traditions, from time immemorial, people have lit candles as a sacred action. It can express far more than words alone. Lighting a candle can speak volumes, or it can be a gentle whisper.

It can be done as a prayer or reflection, in memoriam of a lost loved one, or as a general wish for peace. It can be out of a sense of gratefulness or joy, it can be a celebration. You may want to begin or end your day by the sacred ritual of lighting a candle on this website. Just remember: slow down and do it with full attention and mindfulness.

Ten years ago today my father passed away. It was very nice to be able to light a candle as I remember him!

I would like to light a candle for Anne Carscadden, who was taken from us all too soon. A truly beautiful person – She has left us all with many wonderful memories which we will cherish. My thought s and prayers are with everyone as you celebrate her life March 24th at St Davids.
